Job Summary
Provide specialized nursing care to patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions by administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other treatments safely. Assess, monitor, and document patient responses while managing central lines, ports, and vascular access devices. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and supportive care resources. Collaborate with physicians and nurse practitioners to coordinate comprehensive care and maintain accurate medical records. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control standards within a multi-specialty environment focused on oncology outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Hematology/Oncology setting as a Registered Nurse
- Proficiency in chemotherapy administration
- Proficiency in central line care
- Proficiency in port access
- Management of oncology-related symptoms
- Patient assessment
- Knowledge of oncology protocols
- Knowledge of safety standards
- Compassionate bedside manner
- Excellent communication with patients and families
- Strong critical thinking
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM work schedule
