Registered Nurse - Hematology/Oncology and Medical, Part-Time Nights - RN

Job Summary
Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care for assigned patients. Implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model. Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, and acuity while participating in preceptor roles, quality improvement efforts, and committees. Possess excellent communication skills and mentor staff. Drive a personal vehicle as part of the role. Work part-time nights with every-other weekend shifts, including on-call rotation and night shift differentials. Requires current RN license, BLS/ACLS competency, and preference for one year of RN or LPN experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a nursing program
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements
- Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Computer skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting
- Demonstrated leadership
- Effective communicator
- Excellent critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting
- One year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic
- Experience working in a team environment
- Prior experience with electronic medical record systems
- Bachelor's degree in nursing program (for entry-level associate degree RNs hired on or after April 1, 2020)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing program (for entry-level associate degree RNs hired prior to April 1, 2020, as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire)
- ACLS competency (if applicable)
