Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Heart Failure Coordinator in the Cardiac/Neuro ICU units. Responsibilities include Assessing the patient’s physical and psychosocial condition, developing and coordinating a plan of care with the healthcare team, education of patients and families, and ensuring smooth operations on the unit. Roles include precepting new staff and serving as charge nurse, with specialized care in neuro and cardiac patients, including airway management, tracheostomy care, and experience with devices such as ECMO, LVADs, IABP, and Impella. Requires BSN (preferred) and CT RN licensure; BCLS required within one month of hire; focus on patient-centered care, teamwork, and ensuring readiness for discharge. The unit emphasizes heart failure management and complex cardiac care in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in Connecticut
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BCLS certification (or obtain within one month of hire)
