Job Summary
Registered Nurse coordinates patient care on a Cardiac ICU unit with a focus on heart failure care. Responsibilities include assessing and planning individualized plans of care, implementing and evaluating outcomes, coordinating with the healthcare team, educating patients and families, and precepting/serving as charge nurse. Requires a nursing degree with BSN preferred, Connecticut RN licensure, and BCLS certification; certification in clinical specialty is encouraged. Involves care on Neuro/Heart Failure patients across ICU/step-down units with emphasis on adherence to unit policies, patient-centered care, and professional behavior.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
- Ability to supervise non-RN personnel and act as preceptor/charge nurse
- Demonstrated competency in neuro assessment, airway management, ventilator care, and care of trached patient
- Familiarity with cardiac ICU/step-down units and post-operative cardiac care
