Job Summary
As an RN in our long-term care setting, you will provide leadership for designated home areas, administer medications, supervise front-line staff, and ensure resident care meets MOHLTC and organizational standards. You will communicate with residents, families, physicians and the care team; participate in skin and wound care programs; complete individualized care plans; assess health status and institute appropriate care measures; ensure drug security; participate in Quality Improvement and risk management activities; perform scheduling duties and act as Charge Nurse in the absence of management; assist with orientation of new staff and volunteers; advocate for residents and contribute to physician rounds and care conferences. The role requires current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a BSN, with strong leadership and communication skills and a solid understanding of regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both in a team and independently
- Understanding of Residents’ Bill of Rights and MOHLTC standards
- Must be able to work shifts
- TB test or Quanti-FERON-TB Gold plus test within past six months
- Vulnerable Sector Check within past six months
