Job Summary
Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care on Neuro and Cardiac ICU units, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision of care. Responsibilities include supervising non-RN personnel, acting as charge nurse, precepting new staff, coordinating with healthcare team, facilitating education and discharge planning, and upholding the Nurse Practice Act and unit standards. Skills emphasized include neuro assessment, airway and ventilator management, care of trached patients, post-CABG/valve repairs, ECMO/IABP/Impella/LVAD device knowledge, and patient/family education within a high-acuity cardiac/neurology-oriented unit. Required Qualifications
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BCLS certification within one month of hire
- BSN preferred
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
