Job Summary
Conduct Medical-Surgical patient care across Mercy facilities while self-scheduling a minimum number of hours and maintaining flexibility for short-notice staffing needs. Accept last-minute shift cancellations as part of the GIG program, working 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts in day or night rotations. Maintain a current RN license, hold BLS certification, and possess at least one year of recent bedside Med-Surg experience. Push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly while standing, walking, and performing duties requiring gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Must maintain a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact state licensure and meet all applicable state board of nursing requirements
- Minimum one (1) year of recent bedside RN experience in Medical-Surgical nursing within the last 3 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat while performing patient care duties
