Job Summary
Self-schedule a minimum number of hours in the Intensive Care Unit while maintaining flexibility for short-notice staffing needs and accepting last-minute shift cancellations. Provide exceptional care to critically ill patients in the ICU across 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts, with options for day and night rotations. Work as a W-2 employee earning a $40/hour base rate plus variable shift incentives, ensuring at least one shift every 90 days. Maintain current RN licensure and recent Critical Care/ICU bedside experience, while adhering to physical requirements for lifting and prolonged standing.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Must maintain a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact state licensure and meet all applicable state board of nursing requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of recent bedside RN experience in Critical Care/ICU within the last two years
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat while performing patient care duties
- Participation in the GIG Nursing Program requires nurses to self-schedule a minimum number of hours
- Maintain flexibility for short-notice staffing needs
- Accept the possibility of last-minute shift cancellations
- GIG positions do not guarantee hours
- GIG positions are the first positions subject to cancellation
