Job Summary
Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care within the GI/Hepatology setting. Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients while delegating tasks based on skill level, experience, acuity, and resource availability. Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership activities, and quality improvement efforts. Possess excellent communication skills for mentoring and teaching; may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Excellent communication skills
- Skillful in mentoring and teaching
- Ability to function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model
- Knowledge of ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice
- Ability to provide leadership through preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts
- Ability to delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources
- Ability to participate on committees or projects
- Ability to drive personal vehicle (for a subset of employees)
