Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to geriatric veterans in inpatient and long-term care settings within the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications and treatments, monitoring chronic and acute conditions, coordinating care with providers and interdisciplinary teams, documenting in the VA electronic medical record, and following VA clinical policies and infection control standards. Schedule includes day, evening, or rotating shifts, Monday–Friday with possible weekends and federal holidays observed. On-site, full-time federal contract with potential multi-year extensions, initially assigned to Menlo Park with possible rotation to Palo Alto campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in any US state
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year recent geriatric, med-surg, or long-term care experience
- Ability to pass VA background and credentialing
