Registered Nurse General Surgery

Registered Nurse in General Surgery providing high-quality, patient-centered perioperative and postoperative care. Responsibilities include assessing patient condition on admission and each shift, performing procedures and documenting care, administering prescribed medications and monitoring responses, promptly addressing patient needs, and educating patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up steps. Collaborates with medical providers and care teams to ensure optimal clinical outcomes and supports the nursing model of Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. Requires RN licensure, a Bachelor's Degree, and Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date. The role is based at Mission Hospital in Morganton, NC, within the HCA Healthcare system, and includes participation in ongoing patient safety and quality initiatives.
