Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for surgical and orthopedic populations in a 25-bed acute care unit. Administer prescribed medications, protocols, and testing while coordinating care plans to optimize outcomes and transitions. Monitor and communicate patient conditions, maintain electronic health records, and collaborate with physicians and ancillary staff using critical judgment. Advocate for ethical, holistic care and foster a learning environment for patients, families, and the nursing team. Maintain currency of essential competencies and engage in ongoing professional development within the Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse in the State of Practice
- at least one year of experience
- transitioned to their position from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program
- Must maintain BLS certification
- ACLS is unit dependent
Desired Qualifications
- BSN in Nursing preferred
- Specialty Certification is preferred
