Job Summary
Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients by contacting practitioners for orders, administering prescribed medications, and providing emergency first aid. Check and record vital signs, triage intake screenings, and collect data for statistical reporting while documenting care concisely and accurately. Collaborate on medical services, maintain aseptic techniques, and provide patient education on facility policies and discharge planning. Report treatment reactions and notify supervisors of incidents. Perform duties within the RN scope of practice, including overseeing delegated tasks, covering shifts at multiple correctional facilities, and acting as a backup to site management.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of the RN scope of practice
