Job Summary
Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients while administering prescribed medications and treatments. Check and record vital signs, triage intake screenings, and report reactions to treatments or changes in patient condition. Collaborate with practitioners for diagnosis and treatment, maintain aseptic techniques, and provide patient education on facility policies and discharge planning. Document care concisely in appropriate forms, recommend improved procedures, and participate in in-service education sessions. Perform duties within the RN scope of practice, including overseeing delegation and acting as a backup to the Site Manager. May be directed to cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities and train new hires.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of the RN scope of practice
- May be directed to cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities
- May be asked to act as a back-up to the H.S.A/Site Manager
- May be asked to train new hires and coworkers
