Job Summary

Conduct general nursing activities in the Endovascular Operating Room, administering conscious sedation under direct physician supervision per AORN guidelines. Design, coordinate, and deliver care to patients with compromised reflexes or self-care abilities using the nursing process. Supervise surgical team members, establish a compassionate environment for patients and families, and ensure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards and infection-control protocols. Document actions utilizing SBAR, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and accurately document/charge for supplies. Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and achieve required certifications while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to promote safe patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse
  • Endovascular Operating Room experience
  • Administration of Conscious (Moderate) Sedation under the direct supervision of the operating physician following AORN guidelines
  • Knowledge of nursing process
  • Ability to design, coordinate, and deliver care to patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised
  • Ability to establish, ensure, and supervise surgical team members and procedures
  • Ability to promote and restore patient's health
  • Ability to collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members
  • Ability to provide physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families
  • Ability to establish a compassionate environment
  • Ability to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
  • Knowledge of therapeutic standards
  • Ability to measure health outcomes against patient care goals and standards
  • Knowledge of hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care
  • Knowledge of state board of nursing regulations
  • Knowledge of state nurse practice act
  • Knowledge of other governing agency regulations
  • Ability to comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to call for assistance from health care support personnel
  • Ability to adhere to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Knowledge of medication administration and storage procedures
  • Knowledge of controlled substance regulations
  • Ability to document as per policy
  • Ability to communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs utilizing SBAR
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Ability to ensure proper function and operation of equipment following manufacturer's instructions
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Ability to call appropriate personnel for repairs
  • Ability to evaluate new equipment as necessary
  • Ability to accurately document/charging for supplies
