Job Summary
Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients while administering prescribed medications and treatments. Perform triage officer intake screenings, check vital signs, and record diagnostic test results. Provide emergency first aid, patient education on facility policies, and report treatment reactions or condition changes. Collaborate with practitioners for diagnosis and treatment, maintain aseptic techniques, and document care accurately. Oversee delegation within RN scope, notify supervisors of incidents, and participate in in-service education. May cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities, act as a backup to the Site Manager, and train new hires.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of the RN scope of practice
