Job Summary
Provide direct patient care under supervision, including comprehensive nursing assessments, vital sign monitoring, and accurate medication administration. Maintain optimal patient health through teaching, counseling, and collaborative planning while documenting all observations and treatment responses in a timely manner. Act as a patient advocate, develop crisis plans, and participate in master treatment plans and group therapies. Assume charge nurse roles as assigned and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of 2 years' prior relevant psychiatric experience
- Massachusetts RN license
- CPR Certified
- Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes
- Knowledge of therapeutic relationships and processes
- Knowledge of age specific growth and development
- Knowledge of limit setting
- Knowledge of behavior and crisis management
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize independently
- Ability to multi-task in a changing and fast paced mental health environment
- Ability to work in a highly collaborate, team environment
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Physical agility to manage patients in crisis
- Ability to push, pull and lift 10 to 75 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and stoop intermittently
