Job Summary
Conduct pre, during, and post procedure nursing care for vascular access patients, including moderate sedation and contrast media injections. Monitor patient conditions, administer IV medications and sedation per physician orders, and perform point-of-care laboratory testing and IV insertion. Maintain sterile technique as a scrub technologist, transport patients, and operate facility equipment such as patient monitors and sterilizers. Document patient information from admission to discharge, confirm orders and lab results, and complete required adverse event reports. Support continuous quality improvement by attending CQI meetings, performing chart audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Maintain facility environmental integrity, manage medication inventory, and stock emergency equipment including crash carts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Associate's Degree
- Bachelor's Degree
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.)
- Current appropriate state licensure
- ACLS certification
- 4 - 6 years' related experience
- Office Based Surgical Center/Ambulatory Surgical Center/Vascular Access, Cardiac Cath Lab, or a combination of ASC, surgical, Interventional Radiology and ICU/CCU or emergency department experience
- Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office
- Proficient in IV insertion
- Proficient in cardiac rhythm recognition
- Experience with Medical database software
- Certified in BLS & ACLS successfully completed course certifications
- Must be able to lift 200 lbs
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move patients and equipment
- Must comply with HIPPA policies and standards regarding patient information and medical records
- Must comply with Fresenius Medical Care drug-free workplace policy
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree desirable
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
- 4 - 6 years' related experience preferred
