Job Summary
The School Nurse will coordinate and maintain health care services for students by working with the Miami-Dade County Department of Public Health and other providers, ensuring appropriate health care needs for infants and toddlers, and administering medications as prescribed. Responsibilities include serving as a liaison with health providers, arranging on-site clinical services, participating in case conferences, assisting physicians, managing clinic supplies, preparing clinical charts, and applying nursing principles in patient care, with occasional travel within the county and possible evening/weekend work. Requires current RN licensure or ARNP certification in Florida and involves background screening and verification processes.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with F.S. 464 or eligibility to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.
- Certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in accordance with Florida Statute 464.
