Job Summary
Registered Nurse Float Pool Med Surg PCU at HCA Florida Largo Hospital provides clinical expertise across Med/Surg, Telemetry and Progressive Care units. You will assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for Med/Surg, Telemetry and Progressive Care patients; instruct patients and families on medications and treatment; maintain patient records and post test results; administer medications per physician orders. Requires FL RN license (or active compact license within 90 days), Nursing Diploma or ASN (BSN preferred), and BLS/ACLS with NIHSS; prior acute care experience desirable. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and collaboration within a large healthcare network.
Required Qualifications
- Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or have an active FL compact license within 90 days of hire
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification (6-month grace period from hire)
- Current NIHSS certification (6-month grace period from hire)
- Possible specialty certifications: CCRN, ONC, PCCN, CMSRN, Vascular/Cardiac/M-SRN certifications (as listed)
- Strong critical thinking, interpersonal and documentation skills
- Ability to read, interpret and follow physician orders and instructions
- Proficiency with PC-based systems and medical records
