Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Float Pool, Full Time, Days at Nebraska Methodist Health System in Council Bluffs, IA. Day shift is 7a-7p with rotating weekends and holidays. Provides age-appropriate nursing care and family-centered services, conducts initial and ongoing assessments, develops and revises individualized care plans, administers medications per standards, collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, performs SBAR communications, and participates in performance improvement and education activities. Requires RN licensure (compact accepted), BSN preferred, and ongoing competency in nursing practice; BLS required within 3 months of hire with ACLS/PALS preferred, NIH Stroke Scale training within 3 months of orientation, and ongoing certifications as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required or equivalent
- Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in states of practice (compact multistate license acceptable) or temporary permit while awaiting licensure
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred
- Annual mandatory education requirements completed
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 3 months of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred at hire; ACLS and PALS preferred
- NCC or ANCC core certification preferred within 1 year of eligibility
- Experience not required
