Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner across adult medical-surgical, pediatric, critical care, oncology, and emergency units. Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients, plan individual care including discharge teaching, and document accurately and timely. Administer medications and treatments safely, manage standard patient care equipment, and accept charge responsibilities to assign staff based on acuity and complexity. Maintain a healing therapeutic environment while adhering to hospital policies and competency-based assessments. Requires prolonged standing for up to twelve hours daily and the ability to lift up to 250 lbs with assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- TNCC Preferred
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Adult Emergency Room: At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- Adult Emergency Room: TNCC Preferred
- Adult Emergency Room: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Adult Emergency Room: PALS within 6 months of hire
- Adult Emergency Room: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Medical Surgical: At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- Pediatric Medical Surgical: PALS within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Medical Surgical: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Emergency Room: At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
- Pediatric Emergency Room: PALS within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Emergency Room: ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Emergency Room: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Emergency Room: ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
