Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner across adult medical-surgical, pediatric, critical care, oncology, and emergency units. Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients, including data obtained from patients, families, and the healthcare team. Plan individual care, patient teaching, and discharge needs while independently administering treatments, procedures, and medications safely. Accept charge responsibilities, assign staff based on acuity, and maintain a healing therapeutic environment. Document accurately and reassess patient conditions to modify care plans. Requires licensed status in Tennessee, BLS within 90 days, and unit-specific certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NVCI. Schedule involves up to twelve hours of prolonged standing and lifting up to 250 lbs with assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- TNCC Preferred
- At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
