Job Summary
Float Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse responsible for caring for adult/geriatric patients with general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. Clinically manage assessments, medication administration, dressing changes, vital signs, documentation, and patient/family education. Floats among Medical-Surgical units at a single hospital location. Requires RN license in Missouri; BLS within 90 days and ACLS within one year. Emphasis on versatile clinical skills, effective communication, leadership, and multitasking in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- RN license active in Missouri
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
- BLS must be obtained within 90 days
- ACLS to be obtained within one year of hire
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Flexibility to float among Medical-Surgical units
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vitals, maintain records, provide education
