Registered Nurse Float ICU

Conduct initial vital signs, admission history, and complete nursing admission assessments within eight hours of patient arrival. Perform system assessments, administer medications and IV therapy, and document interventions during emergency situations. Provide individualized patient education, manage pre- and post-operative care, and perform procedures such as dressing changes, ostomy care, and urinary catheter insertion. Monitor glucose levels, administer oxygen therapy, and ensure hygiene needs are met daily. Evaluate patient progress, update care plans, and participate in interdisciplinary planning. Functions as a Charge Nurse to triage beds and assign patients, while presenting unit inservices and attending staff meetings.
