Job Summary
Registered Nurse Float in Cardiac/Neuro ICU units with duties spanning assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; provide supervision of non-RN personnel, act as charge nurse, and participate in education and precepting of staff. Responsibilities include neuro assessments, airway/care of tracheostomy patients, suctioning (pharyngeal/endotracheal/tracheostomy), ventilator care, ECMO/advanced device considerations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust plans of care, discharge planning, and patient/family education. Requires nursing degree (BSN preferred), CT RN licensure, and current BCLS; commitment to professional development within the SPIRE clinical advancement program.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current Connecticut RN license
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Experience in neuro, cardiac ICU, or critical care settings preferred
- Ability to supervise non-RN personnel and function as charge nurse/education role
