Job Summary
Float Registered Nurse in a Critical Care unit responsible for ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; supervising non‐RN personnel; acting as charge nurse as assigned; providing education and coordinating care with the healthcare team. Demonstrates competency in neuro care, airway management, and procedures such as suctioning for tracheostomy and ventilated patients; utilizes the TIA teaching program; serves as a preceptor to new staff and supports unit operations. Requires Acute RN experience and a CT RN license; BLS certification. BSN preferred. Proficiency with electronic patient records and literature searching for patient care is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 1 year acute nursing experience required
- Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license
- BLS required
- Computer skills including electronic patient records
- Ability to use internet for literature searches regarding patient care
- Critical care or emergency experience preferred
