Job Summary
Registered Nurse Float – Critical Care position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care on a nursing unit, supervising non‐RN personnel, acting as charge nurse when needed, and potentially rotating to other nursing units. Responsibilities include developing and documenting a plan of care with patient and family involvement, coordinating with the healthcare team, educating patients and families, and ensuring high-quality service. Demonstrates competency in neuro patient care, neuro assessment, airway management for neuro patients, care for trached patients, and implements care for patients requiring specialized neuro procedures. Utilizes the Tia teaching program, performs suctioning (pharyngeal, endotracheal, tracheostomy) per policy, and cares for patients on ventilators. Also serves as a preceptor to new staff and contributes to performance expectations in customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and ongoing professional development. This role requires BSN preferred and 1 year of acute nursing experience; CT RN licensure is required with BLS; acute care or emergency experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
- 1 Year acute nursing experience required
- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- BLS Required
- Critical Care or Emergency experience preferred
