Registered Nurse Float – Critical Care

Registered Nurse Float with a Neuro/Critical Care focus providing bedside nursing care on a Neuro/ICU-oriented unit. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care; supervising non-RN personnel; serving as Charge Nurse and Preceptor; facilitating education and discharge readiness; and performing neuro-specific skills such as neuro assessment, airway management for neuro patients, ventilator care, suctioning (pharyngeal/endotracheal/tracheostomy), and related procedures. Strong emphasis on patient-centered care, collaboration with the healthcare team, and adherence to unit policies. Bonus considerations include familiarity with the TIA teaching program and handling patients with Halo braces or post-neuro procedures.
