Job Summary
Registered Nurse Float – Critical Care position supports the Neuro-focused and general critical care unit by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; provides supervision of non-RN personnel, functions as charge nurse as needed, serves as preceptor for new staff, and contributes to education and care planning. Responsibilities include developing and documenting individualized plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, teaching patients and families, ensuring readiness for discharge, and applying neuro-specific skills (neuro assessment, airway management, care for trached patients, suctioning, ventilator care) as part of the care plan. Demonstrates knowledge of the TIA teaching program and participates in specialized neuro procedures and education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing
- BSN Preferred
- Proficient In Use Of Computer Software To Include Electronic Patient Records
- Must Have Ability To Use Internet For Literature Searches Regarding Care For Patients
- 1 Year acute nursing experience required
- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- BLS Required
- Critical Care or Emergency experience preferred
