Registered Nurse Float – Critical Care

Registered Nurse Float – Critical Care responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care on a nursing unit/department across assigned rotations. Provides supervision of non-RN personnel, acts as charge nurse when needed, and may work on other units per staffing. Key duties include developing and communicating individualized plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, ensuring education for patients and families, precepting new staff, demonstrating competency in neuro-related care (neuro assessment, airway management, tracheostomy care, suctioning, vent care, Halo brace), and supporting discharge planning. Requires RN license, 1 year NICU experience, BLS, and BSN preferred. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration, and adherence to unit policies and procedures.
