Registered Nurse Float – Critical Care

Registered Nurse Float – Critical Care role on a Neuro-focused unit. Responsibilities include assessing the patient’s physical and psychosocial condition continually, developing and documenting a plan of care with patient and family involvement, implementing and coordinating the plan with the healthcare team, evaluating patient response and readiness for discharge, planning patient and family education, and serving as a preceptor to new staff and as a charge nurse. Demonstrates competency in neuro care, including neuro assessment, airway management of neuro patients, care of trached patients, and involvement in neuro procedures. Requires proficiency with Halo braces and ventilator care, and familiarity with the TIA Teaching Program. Performs duties to ensure smooth department operations and high-quality patient care.
