Job Summary
Registered Nurse Float – Critical Care provides ongoing assessment of patients on a nursing unit, develops and documents individualized care plans, coordinates with the healthcare team, and supports education of patients and families. Responsibilities include supervising non-RN personnel when needed, serving as charge nurse, and demonstrating competency in neuro care, airway management, ventilator and tracheostomy care, and specialized neuro procedures. Requires collaboration with the unit team to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to unit policies, with opportunities to precept and support staff development. Licensure as a Connecticut RN, BLS, and Med/Surg RN experience are noted as prerequisites; BSN preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing
- Connecticut Registered Nurse License (CT RN)
- Med/Surg RN experience required
- BLS certification
- BSN preferred
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- Med/Surg RN experience required
- BLS required
- CT Registered Nurse License (CT RN)
- Experience with neuro assessment and neuro procedures
- Experience as preceptor or charge nurse would be advantageous
- Proficiency with electronic health records
- Ability to develop and document Plan of Care with patient/family involvement
