Job Summary
Administer primary care for illnesses, injuries, dental, and mental health problems, including sick-call assessments, trauma management, and chronic condition monitoring. Complete health evaluations for new students within 48 hours and collaborate with mental health counselors to manage psychotropic medications. Coordinate referrals to private physicians and community resources while preparing the wellness center for Program Compliance Assessments and conducting internal chart audits. Maintain medical records in strict adherence to HIPAA and the Privacy Act, and requisition and safeguard medical supplies and controlled substances. Participate in the Tobacco Use Prevention Program, biochemical testing, and annual staff training on adolescent development. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with potential evening or weekend coverage based on student population needs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional nursing experience in clinical care, ambulatory care, public health, or emergency triage
- Current, active Montana State Registered Nurse (RN) License or a multistate compact RN license in good standing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification
- Must agree to a criminal background check and drug testing as a prerequisite for contract performance
- Must be capable of providing primary care for trauma cases
- Must be able to drive students in Government vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required depending on center emergency protocols
