Job Summary
Provide direct patient care, assessment, and triage for adult and pediatric patients in walk-in and scheduled appointments at the Yakama Indian Health Center. Administer oral and parental medications, immunizations, and wound care, while assisting with clinical procedures, point-of-care testing, and patient education. Document all clinical activities accurately in the Electronic Health Record within 48 hours of service and address patient concerns over the phone. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives to support primary and urgent care delivery. Work on-site Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with community outreach travel possible.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and IHS standards of care
- Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accreditation agency at the time of completion
- At least two (2) years of recent clinical experience in direct patient care within a healthcare (e.g., hospital) or ambulatory setting
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in a U.S. jurisdiction
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Favorable background investigation and fingerprinting; must meet HSPD-12 requirements for federal facility access
- Ability to ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and IHS standards of care
