Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly, with prolonged standing and walking required each shift. Requires ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat. Must obtain and maintain a current RN license within the hiring state or compact licensure. Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to perform prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire

- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
