Job Summary
Conduct technical assistance to the surgeon during operative procedures, including pre-operative assessment, providing hemostasis, and suturing tissue as directed. Manage exposure through instrument use and retractors, handle tissue placement, and place drains. Document experiences needed to maintain competency and identify patient learning needs when time permits. Participate in scheduling system development, quality improvement committees, and staff education activities. Fulfill minimum call requirements and function in circulating or scrub roles when scheduled. Maintain current specialty knowledge and utilize effective communication to promote staff relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed (or licensure eligible) to practice as a Registered Nurse by the State of Idaho
- Required to provide documentation of completion of RNFA course
- Three years perioperative RN experience
- CNOR certification
- Must meet requirements to obtain allied health privileges through medical staff credentialing
