Job Summary

Conduct health screenings, coordinate lab results, and monitor physical conditions for clients with substance use disorders. Administer oral and injectable medications, primarily long-acting buprenorphine, while tracking side effects and verifying prescriptions. Facilitate telemedicine appointments, schedule provider follow-ups, and communicate critical medication updates to treating clinicians. Deliver education and training to staff and clients on overdose prevention, drug interactions, and treatment options. Coordinate referrals for primary and specialty care, manage pharmacy enrollments, and collaborate with shelter nursing staff to remove barriers to treatment. Perform quality reviews of services and maintain accurate documentation within established timeframes.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
  • Registration as an RN with WA Department of Health
  • Pass background check through Washington State Patrol
  • 1 year experience working with vulnerable populations (either people living with homelessness, mental illness, or substance use disorders)
  • Ability to outreach and engage individuals who are ambivalent about health care and treatment
  • Core knowledge or ability to quickly learn Electronic Medical Records, tracking systems, and Excel spreadsheets
  • Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
  • Active Driver's license with reliable transportation and ability to drive between a variety of work locations throughout the day/weekly schedule
  • This position is a full time, M-F, first shift position, although flexibility in schedule and hours may be required for program needs

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity and experience with administering long-acting injectable buprenorphine in an outpatient setting, or strong interest in training for this specialized skill
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or BSN Equivalent
  • Working knowledge of health care laws and regulations in Washington State and King County
