Job Summary
Per diem Registered Nurse for the DASH Crisis Center provides health assessments, health education, diagnostic testing, and medication administration to individuals in a behavioral health crisis. The RN functions as part of an interdisciplinary team, may act as a team lead, and maintains med inventory standards. Responsibilities include health monitoring and education/counseling, conducting urine toxicology screenings, administering oral medications and intramuscular injections, and completing clinical documentation in an electronic medical record per NYS Office of Mental Health regulations. The role requires infection-control practices, participation in supervision/teams, and ongoing training in crisis intervention and de-escalation. The incumbent will foster positive relationships, communicate effectively, and assess situations to determine urgency and risk in alignment with organizational goals. All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing
- Licensed and registered to practice nursing in the state of New York
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care, psychiatric setting
- Experience with co-occurring disorders and/or chemical dependency
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Electronic Health Records experience preferred
