Job Summary
Plan, organize, and administer patient care in the Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital ER, collaborating with professional disciplines to ensure effective delivery and desired outcomes. Analyze comprehensive patient information to determine nursing diagnoses, evaluate progress toward goals, and apply appropriate interventions. Continually utilize the nursing process to promote health and maintain a safe environment while managing multiple assignments simultaneously. Shift hours are full-time nights (6:45p–6:45a) with an increased night differential of $10/hour. The ER treats 170–210 patients daily across 44 beds and is stroke and chest pain certified. Orientation typically lasts 6–8 weeks depending on prior RN experience.

- Possesses ample fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to assess and evaluate patients in practical applications of moderate difficulty in the home setting
- Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency in providing patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty
- Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility
- Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully search for nutrition evidence to answer clinical questions
