Job Summary
Under general direction, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the ER unit independently provides holistic, individualized care using the Nursing Process for patients on the unit. Demonstrates advanced clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and commitment to quality patient care. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment, and nursing care delivery appropriate to patient age groups; ability to interpret information to meet patient needs; knowledge of growth and development; and understanding of treatment ranges. Works hours that may include holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call duties as directed. Demonstrates cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors across departments. Relocation assistance up to $4,000 for out-of-state and up to $2,000 for in-state relocation, plus sign-on bonuses ($10,000 over 2 years for 3+ years of RN experience; $3,000 over 2 years for 1–3 years of RN experience).
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California
- BLS card current
- ACLS and PALS required for all experienced ED nurses on hire date; if new hire transfer or lacks ED experience, BLS current prior to start and ACLS/PALS within 6 months
- MICN certification required within 1 year of starting employment/transfer or prior to being assigned as Charge RN or Resource RN
- CPI certification current or obtain within 1 year of department assignment
- Must have and maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
- ED experience within last 2 years
- Minimum of one year recent acute care RN experience
