Job Summary
Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Registered Nurse responsible for conducting pre-, peri-, and post-procedure assessments, developing and updating care plans, directing care delegated to non-licensed personnel, administering medications, maintaining aseptic technique, and coordinating interdisciplinary team responses. The role includes patient specimen handling, quality control, equipment maintenance, ensuring proper H&P documentation, coordinating discharge planning, and supporting safe, high-quality cardiovascular care in Heart Hospital of Austin's EP Lab.
Required Qualifications
- RN (Registered Nurse)
- Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/BLS) within 30 days of employment start date
- Ability to perform pre, peri, and post-procedure assessments
- Experience or ability to work in an Electrophysiology (EP) Lab
- Ability to coordinate interdisciplinary team communication and patient discharge planning
- Maintain aseptic environment and ensure safe care in EP Lab
- Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered
- Maintain supplies and operate equipment in EP Lab
- Ensure physician-documented H&P prior to procedures
