Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for assigned patients in the Emergency Short Stay Unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care; document care thoroughly; collaborate with the health team; educate patients and families; administer medications and treatments per policies; observe and respond to patient changes, ensuring safety, hydration, and appropriate outcomes; demonstrate nursing competence with necessary equipment and adherence to standards; participate in nursing actions, teaching, and policy reviews; possess a current NYS RN license and BLS, with ACLS within 1 year of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment if hired after Sept 1, 2010 and obtain a BSN within five years
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- BLS required, ACLS within 1 year of hire
