Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care for patients while collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team. Provide and document patient care under the direction of the Assistant Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager, utilizing best scientific evidence and compassion to assist patients in navigating their health journey. Accept responsibility and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures. Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels, ensuring completion of nursing interventions, medical orders, and related therapies. Perform routine nursing care such as starting IVs, administering medications, and assisting in critical situations including CPR.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Current RN licensure in applicable state
- CPI certification within three months of hire
- Ability to perform basic nursing skills on groups of patients
- Ability to assume charge responsibility
- Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly
- Ability to administer medication utilizing the five rights
- Ability to communicate verbally and in written form
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to safely and effectively care for all patient populations which present to the department
- Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs
- Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills
- Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
- Ability to use Safe Handling Equipment for any weight over 35 lbs
- Successful completion of a Board approved refresher course (if license inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more)
- Application for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course
- Ability to use safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention
- Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed
- On call responsibilities as directed
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred over required accredited school)
- 1 year of relevant experience (preferred)
