Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Assess patient physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and medical record review. Evaluate patient responses and intervene to ensure optimal outcomes while developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrate competency in therapeutic interventions including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. Maintain thorough, confidential patient charts and document ongoing status, interventions, and outcomes accurately. Provide patient and family education based on their learning readiness and evaluate teaching effectiveness. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, and support clinical decision-making. Prioritize health, safety, and rights of each patient while adhering to the nursing process and State Nurse Practice Act. Requires one year of recent ED experience, active RN license, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, ENPC, PALS, NIHSS, NRP, and TNCC. Shifts are PRN with 5 shifts in 6 weeks from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
