Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (PRN): Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in the Emergency Department for a per-diem/PRN position. Requires Tennessee nursing licensure and completed nursing education. Certifications include BLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 6 months for multiple ER tracks; NVCI within 6 months; TNCC for Adult ER and PALS within 6 months for Pediatric ER; ENPC or TNCC within 6 months for Pediatric ER. Responsibilities encompass comprehensive patient assessment, individualized care planning, patient teaching, medication administration, documentation, and maintaining a safe, healing environment across adult, pediatric, and oncology patient populations as appropriate to unit assignment. The role supports a variety of ER patient care deliveries including telemetry and critical care considerations, and requires ability to work up to 12-hour shifts, with flexibility in unit assignments (Adult Medical-Surgical, Pediatric Medical-Surgical, Critical Care, Oncology, and/or Pediatric Emergency as indicated). Workplace demands include English communication, safe patient handling, and adherence to hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire (varies by unit)
- NVCI certification within 6 months of hire (varies by unit)
- PALS within 6 months of hire (varies by unit)
- TNCC Preferred (Adult Emergency Room)
- PALS within 6 months of hire (Pediatric Emergency Room)
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire (Pediatric Emergency Room)
- 1 year emergency experience preferred (Adult ER)
- RN licensure in Tennessee
