Job Summary
Assess patients upon arrival to determine condition severity and prioritize care using standardized triage protocols. Provide direct care for patients with medical conditions and injuries, including administering medications, performing wound care, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain. Assist with stabilizing severe illness or trauma cases, initiating life-saving interventions such as ACLS, PALS, and trauma care. Manage high-stress situations effectively while communicating clinical changes to physicians and educating patients and families on treatment and discharge instructions. Maintain compliance with EMTALA regulations and abuse reporting protocols. This full-time night shift role (7p-7a) at Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, KS, offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus. Candidates must hold a current RN license and possess ACLS and BLS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
- In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current
- EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire
- Non OB facilities: NRP (AHA) certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Care, or Emergency Department
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
