Job Summary
An Emergency Room (ER) Nurse provides critical care to patients in emergency situations, assessing, triaging, and treating those with acute illnesses or injuries. Responsibilities include administering medications, performing procedures, monitoring vital signs, and educating patients and families. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Required qualifications include a graduate nursing degree, current nursing license, BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications, and completion of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within a month of hire. Previous clinical experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Current Illinois Nursing License
- Current Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross ACLS)
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training course (CPI) within 1 month of hire date
Desired Qualifications
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or International Trauma Life Support Certification (ITLS)
- Emergency Communication Registered Nurse (ECRN)
