Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in the Emergency Room in a full-time night-shift role. Requires earning a nursing diploma or degree and licensure in Tennessee, with BLS within 90 days of hire and unit-specific certifications such as ACLS, NVCI, PALS, and TNCC/ENPC within specified timeframes. Roles vary by unit (Adult ER, Pediatric ER, telemetry, critical care, Oncology) and may require certifications like ONS chemo/immunotherapy for Oncology. The position emphasizes comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, documentation, discharge planning, and maintaining a safe, healing environment under pressure for patients ranging from neonates to older adults. Prolonged standing and up to twelve-hour shifts are expected, with equipment knowledge for telemetry, medication systems, and hospital networks.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire (varies by unit)
- NVCI certification within 6 months of hire (varies by unit)
- PALS within 6 months of hire (varies by unit)
- TNCC preferred for Adult Emergency Room (for some units)
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire (for Pediatric ER)
- Oncology chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire (for Oncology track)
- OSN chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire (for Oncology track)
