Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room, effectively utilizing the nursing process to ensure optimal outcomes for newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Perform focused assessments, document pain management, and support patient rights while addressing cultural and religious diversity. Deliver ongoing education to patients and families, manage discharge instructions, and delegate responsibilities to appropriate team members. Maintain calm during acuity changes, utilize the chain of command, and participate in committee activities, preceptorship, and charge roles when requested. Complete all mandatory training and orientation within the hospital's credentialing timeline.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited nursing program
- Illinois licensed or eligible
- CPR required
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC, ECRN preferred
- Prior Emergency Department experience or other critical care environment preferred
